Bookings for Scout Programs are open for October, November and December.

The Center can host between 6 and 25 scouts per program. Programs are available throughout the year.
Please be advised that only registered scouts may participate in program activities.

The Jones Beach Energy and Nature Center offers many unique scout programs.
All programs are 1.5 hours long and are offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

Leaders are free in their supervisory capacities. We charge based on the total amount of scouts.
Group fee:
6-20 scouts: $75
21-25 scouts: $125
If the Vehicle Use Fee is in effect, troops are responsible for paying the fee, on top of the group fee.
2025 Fees Collected:
Starting Saturday April 5th, Weekends & Holidays, 8am - 4pm
Daily Starting Saturday May 24th 8:am-4pm
Program cost is payable by check to “NY State Parks.” Mail your check and signed permit to:

If you are a club advisor, or a homeschool parent, you may be interested in some of the topics covered in our scout programs. You are welcome to submit a booking for a program, but must adhere to the same age guidelines as Scout groups.

Q: Can I bring a tag-a-long?
A: Tag-a-longs are welcome to visit the Center with your troop, but will not be permitted to participate in any program activities.
Q: After receiving my permit, can I change the number of scouts that will be attendance?
A: Permits can not be adjusted, please request the maximum number of scouts you expect to attend.
Q: Will pricing change if my scout attendance changes? Example, only 15 of 22 scouts attend.
A: No; unfortunately, groups are responsible for the pricing listed on their issued permit.
Q: Are my scouts able to have lunch/snack at the Center?
A: The Center has outdoor seating which may be utilized by your group. There are no vending machines or cafeteria at the Center.
