Enjoy a guided tour of this unique art-meets-science exhibit celebrating the Shinecock Kelp Farmers. Admire the work of Indigenous artists while our educators answer all of your kelp questions Exhibit on view through October 31st.
The exhibit explores water access, traditional place names, and the Shinnecock relationship with the sea-from pre-contact traditions and singing to the kelp, to historical conflicts and contemporary environmental restoration. Made possible by collaboration with Ma’s House: BIPOC Art Studio, the Shinnecock Kelp Farmers, and funding from NPS Maritime Heritage Grant.
